Meet Jazmine “Nikao” Bledsoe

Nikao Nation was founded by Jazmine ‘Nikao’ Bledsoe in the Spring of 2023. Motivated by the healing process of her own story, Jazmine is passionate about creating an experience for people that inspires them to take on the painful, ugly, and rewarding journey of healing from their own stories. She does this in hopes to help prevent the ongoing generational trauma that takes place when individuals don’t break the cycle of what they’ve had to endure. At the foundation of Nikao Nation, you will find that Jazmine has uniquely combined her graduate school education and creative talent in music to develop a tool that will be a bridge to community resources in the lives of those she will impact.

Jazmine grew up in Richmond, VA, later attending college in Lynchburg at Liberty University where she studied Psychology and Mental Health Counseling. She has a background working in the mental health field providing therapy for a wide variety of clientele, specializing in the care of youth and young adults. She values having a meaningful impact on the lives of those she gets to influence. This fuels her passion for Nikao Nation. The most important part of her healing journey has been maintaining a close walk with Jesus, leaning on him for strength, comfort, and provision. Jazmine does not claim to have “fully arrived” when it comes to the journey of healing but has traveled leaps and bounds from where she began. She is convinced that healing is like an onion, happening in layers, one season at a time. She has gained strength in the seasons where carrying the impact of her trauma was harder than others, and has been committed to the process of healing through it all. No matter how difficult vulnerability is, Jazmine continues to practice walking in transparency, because she knows that the impact of her story is too important for her to not offer hope for others in the ways that she needed it most in past seasons. When you join the nation of Nikao’s being raised under Jazmine’s leadership, you will be profoundly moved by the beauty of her resilience, and the impact that Nikao Nation will have across the globe.
